You don’t live in a culture that bludgeons men and women to death for speaking with the person they want to spend the rest of their lives with?

GREAT !

This post is for those looking for a woman who shares their faith in Jesus; a woman you love communicating and spending time with, someone who stuns you with her adoration for God, her beauty, wisdom and her concern for both His church and non-Christian friends.

Someone to marry .. someone who will fall in love with you for the rest of your life!

AMEN!

You could find her in your church community, or maybe through your parents, maybe through spiritual mentors who are scanning radar and horizon on your behalf, even on Facebook (!!!).

But surely, finding a woman of the aforementioned kind is a task easily embarked upon, but seldom quickly achieved. Of course, we need to pray and seek God’s choice to be sent our way. But how should young men prepare themselves, while praying and waiting? Continue reading “6 Tips For Eligible Bachelors”

This post summarizes the last two sermons in the Heritage Series from Grace City Church. As a parent, you might be wondering – who dares preach about parenting?!

The right answer at any rate would be- any good preacher with the right message from the Word of God, the Bible!

This is the final post in Margfamilies’ parenting series, and it follows last week’s post. Some of you might have had no time to read these posts, because you’ve been busy parenting. I can imagine parents wishing that bringing up children would finish as easily as a three-part blog series does.

But that would mean you are assuming parenting ends when children grow up and leave home. You might even be thinking of parenting as little more than a huge list of “infinite” chores that need to be done and a headache you must live with. After all- you’re the mom who has to lose time over bitter fights between siblings, you are the dad who needs to pay the annual school fee that costs more than your bike does.

ATTENTION ! Out of the reverie!

Do you really have to control your kid’s future and all of it’s 23,258 aspects? You think you really are able to? Have we all not failed enough already?

And, is our Lord not powerful enough to do what is right, so we don’t have to be in control?

We need to remember God is fully able and is already taking the best care of the children He gives as gifts to parents. (Ps. 127:3,4). Let us not think everything lies in our hands. Hopefully, we remember that His purposes cannot be thwarted (Job 42:2).

The perfect parent, God the Father, is in charge of us and our children.

As parents we start afresh each day, having fully pleased God through Continue reading “Heritage Parenting Series : Final Sermons”

Heritage Parenting Series : Sermons #4 – #6

This is a sequel to a far-away post that turned upside down almost all parenting fundas and assumptions Marg Wanowrie church had. The Heritage Parenting Series has eight sermon videos, along with helpful notes and summaries, which I would recommend heartily to parents (and non-parents) curious about Biblical parenting or, God’s principles for bringing up children.

Biblical Parenting!

That mountain with the shining trophy called WELL-BEHAVING CHILDREN and PEACE OF MIND at the top! Yaay!

You start at the foot though.

Journeying up this seemingly arduous path with your kids and spouse, covered with broken china, dal-smeared walls, failed family-worship times and long-forgotten commitments to evangelism and church gatherings.

Also there’s poopoo in the living room, dental visits inspired by horror movies, torn expensive flip-books, 3AM-diaper changes, expectations from church leaders, deep-theology questions from 4-year olds maybe John Piper could explain, airborne toys, raw and public disobedience, balcony-scares and tantrums by both children and parents.

What an uphill minefield God has landed you at, right?

These sermons re-establish that parenting is a huge blessing (Ps. 127:3,4) and need not be a panic-inducing exercise. Continue reading “Heritage Parenting Series : Sermons #4 – #6”
