The right time to get involved with a local church

This body lives no more. I will now die for the last time. Time will soon cease to be relevant.

local church, local church option, disciple, Church as one family, family, family of missionary slaves, Marg, Indian Christianity, Pune, too busy to be a disciple of Jesus, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you, Ephesians 3, with all the saints, comprehend the love of God, too late
Your local church is a time-bound blessing. Get involved!

This side of eternity, I will have missed God’s loving design in this one way: To be one with the local church, God’s family on earth.. day in, day out.

To understand , to have strength to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge. (Eph 3:17-19)

Actually I almost got involved with God’s people.

I wanted to be involved with the local church when I turned 70,
but I was stuck to a new companion, my wheelchair, unable to travel freely. I was left craving to meet anyone, someone.

but there was weekly shopping to be done, what with my spouse gone and had grandchildren to spend time with.

    1. True that Rohin bhai!
Sheetal and I were listening to a David Platt message where he talks about Jesus’ response to some folks who had very real, very genuine (my father is dying!) excuses to not follow Him.
I wonder why on earth was Jesus response was so “dis-comforting”. Does anyone here have any thoughts on that?

      1. First of all great article!!

Aravind, I think the reply to your question is that he is God himself, alpha and omega.

Here what I understood why he said that because until you know how to live, how can you help someone who is dying ?

Following him means walking by holy spirit and with his guidance how can we do right?

        Does it make sense Aravind?

        1. Thanks Varun!
Your reply added another dimension to what might have been on Jesus’ mind when he asked the guy to let his dying father be.
I am certain Jesus was not without compassion, for even one moment, toward the guy and his father. But like you said,
here was Jesus showing true life to a man who may have thought something else about God’s kingdom.

Will you and I trust and obey.
I hope we ecperience and know Jesus’ love enough to do so! 🙂
