Many friends of mine say that all gods are the same.
I think they don’t understand the utter failure Jesus’ life seems like when compared to the life-style and status of Hindu gods like Rama and Krishna. If gods & prophets had resumes, here is a brief comparison-
Raving religious resumes
Ram: Born to royal lineage, defeated Ravana the evil king in war and finally, peacefully leaves his mortal body.
Krishna: Born to royal lineage, killing his arch-enemy Kansa and enabled Pandavas to win the Mahabharata war, finally dies by an arrow wound to his toe and ascends in splendour with his body into his eternal abode.
Muhammad (the last prophet of Islam and not god): Born in the Banu Hashim tribal clan, preached Islam and lived a life of tribal conquest, finally died of an illness.
Jesus: Born to a carpenter under circumstances that made people mock his parentage, He did many miracles and proclaimed himself the Son of God. He was finally mocked at a false trial and then mockedby torture and was dished out a humiliating execution by his own people.
No God was mocked like this Pilate gave the crowd what it wanted, set Barabbas free and turned Jesus over for whipping and crucifixion. The soldiers took Jesus into the palace (called Praetorium) and called together the entire brigade. They dressed him up in purple and put a crown plaited from a thorn bush on his head. Then they began their mockery: “Bravo, King of the Jews!” They banged on his head with a club, spit on him, and knelt down in mock worship. You don’t live in a culture that bludgeons men and women to death for speaking with the person they want to spend the rest of their lives with?
This post is for those looking for a woman who shares their faith in Jesus; a woman you love communicating and spending time with, someone who stuns you with her adoration for God, her beauty, wisdom and her concern for both His church and non-Christian friends.
Someone to marry .. someone who will fall in love with you for the rest of your life!
You could find her in your church community, or maybe through your parents, maybe through spiritual mentors who are scanning radar and horizon on your behalf, even on Facebook (!!!).
But surely, finding a woman of the aforementioned kind is a task easily embarked upon, but seldom quickly achieved. Of course, we need to pray and seek God’s choice to be sent our way. Buthow should young men prepare themselves, while praying and waiting?Continue reading “6 Tips For Eligible Bachelors”
Everybody loves stories of people being rescued from imminent danger. Such stories receive a lot of coverage and views. And why not? It’s incredible good news that we hear in a world frequented by political battles, meanness and brokenness.
It’s even more powerful and awe-inspiring when we hear survivors themselves talk about their miraculous rescue.
The words of a child salvaged after being buried under earthquake rubble for 3 days.
The face of the man pulled from a flooding river that almost swept him to his doom.
We too at Marg rejoice to hear such real-life stories. But we are even more thrilled to hear stories of people who have been rescued from ultimate soul-destruction.
I would have loved to say – it is the way women dress that has brought about molesnation, the rape of life across India.
After all, if only women could cover themselves properly, would these cases of battery, abuse, rape and molestation drastically reduce. The alleged statements made by a minister in Goa helps this case further. Whether he was misquoted or not, it better be true that wearing sarees prevents eve-teasing. The responsibility then lies on the ladies, not on men. Now they can take initiative. Ladko se galti ho jaati hai, lekin ladies first.
