The All Knowing God

Isaiah 40:25-30

Here we are into the second week of 2021. One thing we can be certain, is that the year is filled with uncertainties. On the economic front, there can be many questions; What will happen to the global depression? Stock markets? Interest rates? exchange rates? Onion price !!!? and on a personal front What will happen to my job? My finances? My children? My parents? My friends? My health? When will I get the vaccine ?

How do the people of the world respond to these uncertainties? Panic paralyses few. Fear grips some. Worry eats many.

About 700 to 750 years before Jesus came into this world, God foretold, through the prophet Isaiah, in great detail about the birth of Jesus (Isa 7:14, Isa 9:6-7) and His death (Isa 53). If God knows every detail 700 years before it happens, if in fact God knows every event of world history even before history ever began, then that God with certainty knows every uncertainty of the next 365 days.  He knows the answer to every one of the above questions. He knows in detail every event, of every minute, of every single person,  of  the 7 billion people on planet earth. But such knowledge may sound astounding. But not to a God, who we read in the above scripture portion, calls every star by its name . How many stars are there in the universe? Milky way galaxy alone has about 200 billion stars and the guestimate is, there are 10 billion galaxies. So we have the total number of stars as 2 followed by 21 zeroes and our God knows each one of them by their name. And the same God knows you by your name. Your life is not hidden before God nor your needs unknown to God. He is  the  – All Knowing Omniscient God .

In Romans 8:31 to 32 we read What, then, shall we (His chosen children) say in response to this? If God is for us, who can be against us?  He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all—how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things?

What a great reason to sing His praises every day, to rejoice in Him , to cast our cares on Him  .

God sent His Son, they called Him, Jesus;

He came to love,  heal and forgive;

He lived and died to buy my pardon,

An empty grave is there to prove my Savior lives!

Because He lives, I can face tomorrow,

Because He lives, all fear is gone;

Because I know He holds the future,

And life is worth the living,

Just because He lives!

(Song writers: Gloria and William Gaither)

May we live this New Year, in the knowledge that, our Heavenly Father Knows and therefore all things that will happen this year is for our good.

Amen.
